Simon Black (Founder & Principle Consultant)
Simon is an SAP Programme Director with nearly 30 years of Cross-Sector SAP Project delivery experience.
He combines consulting team leadership with hands-on programme delivery, project recovery and quality review. His experience includes representing the SAP brand and portfolio at C-level on large, complex and disruptive projects, delivering in global multi-partner environments and working with SAP Partners. His focus is on customer business needs during transformation.
Simon previously worked as Director of Project Execution at KaarTech UKI and his Consulting background included roles at NTT Data (formerly Itelligence), SAP UKI, Capgemini and HPE (formerly EDS).
His industry experience includes Aerospace & Defence, Banking & Legal, Higher Education, Oil and Gas, Utilities, Life Sciences, Public Sector and Logistics.
Recently this has also meant leading and growing team of Project and Programme Managers, both onshore and offshore, plus acting as Delivery Director on key strategic client engagements. He works with Sales and Account Management to define tools and methodologies for the rapidly growing business and incorporate the latest AI capabilities to accelerate and reduce time to value on client engagements.
Across this portfolio, Simon has shaped pre-sales activities alongside Sales and Architecture and retained oversight into delivery. His wider experience spans core delivery, project rescue and escalation, quality audits and reviews, and the transition from sales into delivery.
Originally an SAP application Consultant, Simon combines delivery experience with a grounding in support & Outsourcing. His product and platform experience includes S/4 HANA Public and Private Cloud going back to ECC 3.1, Concur, SuccessFactors, Digital Manufacturing Cloud and HANA Analytics platforms.
Simon’s expertise includes SAP Methodologies and Tools such as Activate and CALM / Solution Manager, across large and small implementations. He brings a quality focus to distributed, multi-partner delivery and has regularly been engaged to turn around problem and escalation projects.
He shapes programme strategy and assembles and motivates diverse teams to deliver on time and to budget under business pressure. He also helps client organisations define and redesign SAP Centres of Excellence, aligning stakeholder and SI partner needs, and shapes SAP Roadmaps around Business value and ROI strategy.
